George Godsey has something to smile about as he just been promoted by Texans officials. Formerly a quarterback coach, Godsey will now be in-charge of the Texans offensive as he is now the team’s offensive coordinator.
The appointment of Godsey as the new offensive coordinator coach for the Texans comes as no surprise. Over the past few years Godsey has been able to demonstrate how well the team’s quarterbacks played during the game and has also delivered in his post as the team’s quarterback coach. Given his past record, it is easy to see why the Texans would want to have in their team and better yet have him as the team’s offensive coordinator.
The team’s head coach, Bill O’Brien, announced the news. In his first year with the team, the head coach did not have any offensive coordinator. He started-off by seeking the services of Godsey, who was then in New England, and brought him to the team to become the team’s quarterback coach. As the days progressed, he started trusting him and as a result ended up giving him more responsibilities in the team especially when it came to how the team run its offense during meetings.
“There is nothing I wanted to see exactly when it comes to Godsey, I was more focused on ensuring that we are all on the same page here,” O’Brien said while addressing the media with regards to appointing Godsey as the new offensive coordinator of the Ravens.
